The New Taipei Select Pavilion will take part in the 2026 Taiwan World Chain and Franchise Exhibition from 2 to 5 October, bringing together 20 popular businesses over four days to showcase winning products from the 2026 New Taipei Select awards. With a focus on local food, creative goods and distinctive gifts, the pavilion offers Taiwan’s franchising community an introduction to brands from New Taipei City.
20 businesses showcase local products together
According to the Independence Evening Post, the New Taipei Select Pavilion will bring local businesses and award-winning products to the franchise exhibition, allowing visitors to discover brands and buy gifts with a distinctive local character. The displays extend beyond food and drink to include creative goods, highlighting the variety of products available from New Taipei.
For visitors, the pavilion’s primary role is to showcase products and introduce brands. Visitors can explore what makes each business distinctive through its products, rather than relying solely on franchise recruitment materials. Whether individual businesses offer franchising, distribution or other partnership opportunities should be checked directly with each exhibitor; participation alone does not establish this.
Biennial selection programme backed by promotional support
Sheng Hsiao-jung, Director of New Taipei City’s Economic Development Department, said the city has a rich cultural heritage and strengths across a range of sectors. The city government runs the New Taipei Select programme every two years to identify promising local brands and support them with marketing resources.
Bringing award-winning products and businesses together in a dedicated pavilion is a practical example of how local brands can gain access to major franchise events. Selection provides a platform for product exposure, while the exhibition gives visitors an opportunity to engage with the brands. Both are intended to raise awareness and encourage dialogue, rather than demonstrate that any particular brand already has a mature franchise system.
Assess product appeal separately from franchise terms
For members of the franchising community seeking potential partners, local character can be a useful starting point for exploring a brand. However, product appeal and the ability to replicate a business model are separate questions. Award-winning products may merit attention, but they should not be treated as a guarantee of franchise returns or operational support.
Anyone interested in further discussions should first establish which types of partnership the business actually offers, then look into supply arrangements, quality control and training. Where an arrangement involves only purchasing products, it should be assessed on its purchasing terms, rather than confusing a product showcase with an opportunity to operate a franchised outlet.
Turn exhibition introductions into specific enquiries
The New Taipei Select Pavilion brings 20 businesses and their local products into a single exhibition space, allowing visitors to explore a range of brands over the four-day event. For exhibitors, it offers exposure to a franchise exhibition audience; for potential partners, it provides an opportunity to make initial contact.
In practical terms, visitors can note the products and businesses that interest them, then confirm the scope of any proposed partnership and its written terms with each business. Distinguishing between buying products and operating a franchise is an important first step towards turning interest at the exhibition into an informed assessment of a potential partnership.
