Eurocash: lower revenue, higher EBIT in Q3 2026
Eurocash has released preliminary results for Q3 2026. Revenue fell by 8%, but lower costs helped improve operating profit.

Eurocash ended Q3 2026 with revenue of PLN 7.28 billion, down 8% year on year. At the same time, the group improved its operating profit (EBIT) and net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company. For the franchise community, the context behind these changes matters: the restructuring of Delikatesy Centrum, the transfer of stores to independent operators and the scaling back of parts of the wholesale business.
Several factors behind the sales decline
The preliminary results, reported on 3 November by trade news website dlahandlu.pl, show that more than one factor contributed to Eurocash’s lower turnover. The group primarily pointed to changes in its company-owned Delikatesy Centrum store network. These include both store closures and transfers to franchisees. These are two distinct processes, both presented as elements of the restructuring in the reported results.
A second factor was lower sales at Eurocash Dystrybucja. This was linked to reduced business with less profitable customers and a decline in the number of independent retail customers. In the Cash&Carry business, both depot closures and lower like-for-like sales played a part, so the decline was not simply a consequence of having fewer sites.
The fall in revenue was partly offset by sales growth at Eurocash Serwis and Frisco. This means that performance varied across the group. Total sales reflect both the scaling back of selected business areas and growth elsewhere.
From a franchisee’s perspective, it is therefore important to distinguish between information about the group’s overall turnover and information about a particular partnership model. A decline in consolidated revenue does not, in itself, indicate a change in sales at an individual partner store.
Lower costs helped improve EBIT
Eurocash’s selling and administrative expenses totalled PLN 822 million in Q3. They were 14% lower than a year earlier, falling faster than revenue. Over the same period, the group increased EBIT to PLN 89 million, despite a decline in EBITDA to PLN 216 million.
These figures should be considered separately. EBITDA and EBIT are different measures of operating performance, so an improvement in one does not automatically mean an improvement in the other. In Eurocash’s reported results, lower turnover and lower EBITDA were accompanied by higher EBIT. A headline about falling sales therefore does not capture the full picture for the quarter.
Net results also improved. Net profit from continuing operations was PLN 29 million, compared with PLN 20 million in Q3 2025. Consolidated net profit attributable to shareholders of the parent company reached PLN 16 million, against PLN 7 million a year earlier.
These figures should not, however, be equated with franchisees’ profitability. They are the results of the corporate group, not a breakdown of profits earned by entrepreneurs operating stores under its brands. Assessing an individual store requires its own sales and cost data.
Still a net loss after nine months
The stronger net result in Q3 alone does not mean the group was profitable for the year to date. In the first nine months of 2026, Eurocash’s revenue totalled PLN 21.139 billion, down 7% on the same period a year earlier.
EBITDA for the period reached PLN 539 million, a decline of PLN 44 million, or 8%. Meanwhile, EBIT rose to PLN 145 million, an increase of PLN 5 million, or 4%. The nine-month figures therefore also show these two measures moving in different directions.
The net loss from continuing operations narrowed to PLN 44 million from PLN 60 million a year earlier. The consolidated net loss attributable to shareholders of the parent company was PLN 69 million, compared with PLN 92 million in the corresponding period of 2025. The group reduced its losses but did not eliminate them.
Comparing the two periods helps avoid an oversimplified reading: the third quarter delivered a net profit, while the year-to-date result remained negative. Both statements are true, but they refer to different time frames.
What the results mean for the franchise community
The most direct link between these results and franchising is the change in how some Delikatesy Centrum stores are operated. Eurocash lists transfers to franchisees alongside store closures among the reasons for the revenue decline. The entire decline should therefore not be treated as a straightforward reflection of weaker consumer spending.
The reduction in business with less profitable distribution customers is equally significant. It indicates that sales are also affected by decisions about which customers to serve, rather than by current demand alone. The published figures are preliminary, a point to bear in mind when making further comparisons.
Practical takeaway: when assessing a partnership with the network, analyse the group’s financial health, supply terms and your own store’s profit and loss account separately. Eurocash’s lower revenue and improved EBIT are no substitute for assessing the profitability of an individual outlet.
