Taiwan’s franchise community is preparing for an event combining international annual meetings with a brand exhibition. The 2026 Taiwan World Franchise Expo is scheduled for 2–5 October at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre, Hall 2. With Taiwan also hosting the World and Asia-Pacific franchise annual meetings this year, the focus extends beyond franchise recruitment to opportunities for Taiwanese brands to connect with overseas brands, organisations and buyers.
Exhibition coincides with annual meetings
According to a report published by PChome on 24 September, this year’s exhibition will feature nearly 800 stands and more than 300 brands. Alongside Taiwanese chains, exhibitors include brands from Portugal, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia.
The World and Asia-Pacific franchise annual meetings, taking place in Taiwan at the same time, will bring together chain brands, franchise associations, business leaders and international buyers from multiple countries. For those interested in exploring franchise models abroad, the event offers a single venue in which to meet brands from different markets. For Taiwanese brands, it provides an opportunity for face-to-face discussions with international participants.
Brand counts vary by reporting date
Pre-event reports give slightly different figures for the number of participating brands. Information published by Yam News on 21 September listed more than 250 brands, while the 24 September report cited more than 300. Both mentioned nearly 800 stands. As the information was released on different dates, readers should note the date attached to each figure when assessing the event’s scale, rather than adding the two totals together.
The 21 September report also named Louisa Coffee, Morning Kitchen and My Warm Day among the participants, highlighting 150 Taiwanese brands seeking to compete internationally. This suggests that, alongside local franchise discussions, the exhibition will showcase Taiwanese brands looking to build overseas connections. Participation alone, however, does not mean that overseas partnerships have been secured.
NT$4 billion in business opportunities is a projection
The 24 September report projected that the exhibition would generate NT$4 billion in business opportunities, 12,500 jobs and more than 100,000 visits. These are all pre-event estimates, not confirmed contract values, jobs actually created or recorded attendance figures.
For prospective franchisees, a large exhibition can broaden the range of brands available for comparison, but it cannot replace an assessment of each brand’s business model and performance. Projected business opportunities should not be treated as a guarantee of an individual outlet’s turnover or ability to recoup its investment. Any proposal obtained at the event still needs to be checked carefully against your available capital and operating circumstances.
Prepare a comparison checklist before visiting
The exhibition is scheduled to run from Friday 2 October to Monday 5 October, from 10 am to 6 pm daily, at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre, Hall 2. The address is No. 2, Jingmao 2nd Road, Nangang District, Taipei.
Practical advice: shortlist your target brands before attending and prepare questions about total investment, ongoing fees, training support and territorial rights. When speaking to overseas brands, also ask what support they provide in Taiwan. Request written information and compare proposals after the exhibition, rather than making a decision based solely on the atmosphere at the event.
