Interdomicilio opens in Setúbal and expands home care services
The new franchise serves Setúbal, Barreiro and Palmela. In Almada/Seixal, a move to new premises also brings the addition of a home care service.

Interdomicilio has opened a new franchise in Setúbal, covering the municipalities of Setúbal, Barreiro and Palmela. The expansion comes alongside the growth of its Home Care Service (Serviço de Apoio Domiciliário, or SAD), which the domestic services and care network identifies as one of its main priorities in Portugal over the coming years.
New franchise expands presence south of Lisbon
According to information published by Best Franchising, the new Setúbal franchise is located on Rua Abel Salazar and forms part of the network’s strategy to consolidate its presence in Portugal. The operation brings the brand’s services closer to families across the three municipalities it covers, strengthening its presence in the district.
Interdomicilio’s offering includes cleaning, domestic support and care for older people or those who need assistance with daily living. The network’s development therefore addresses a range of household needs, combining domestic services with care provision.
The Setúbal opening is part of a series of developments during 2026. Alongside new franchises, the brand has been upgrading existing premises and broadening the services available. On the south bank of the Tagus, this also includes changes to the Almada/Seixal operation, where a move to a new address has been accompanied by an additional service.
Almada/Seixal adds home care
Interdomicilio Almada/Seixal now operates from Praceta Ferreira Mira, No. 7A, in Charneca da Caparica. The franchise, which serves families in the municipalities of Almada, Seixal and Sesimbra, has added SAD to its existing domestic services and childcare offering.
Unlike the Setúbal opening, this is the development of an existing operation, with new premises and a broader range of services. For those in the franchise sector, the two developments illustrate different routes to growth within the same network: entering a new location and strengthening an established franchise.
Interdomicilio’s SAD, described as licensed by Portugal’s Social Security authority, is intended for older people and those who need assistance with daily living. The services listed include personal hygiene, daily support, help with taking medication, companionship and assistance with everyday tasks.
The brand links the growing importance of this service to demographic and social changes in Portugal, particularly its ageing population. It also identifies demand for solutions that allow people to remain in their own homes with support. Against this backdrop, it positions SAD as a strategic area for business development over the coming years.
Baixo Minho relocates to Guimarães
The network’s development is not confined to the area south of Lisbon. In northern Portugal, Interdomicilio Baixo Minho, which has been operating for more than ten years, has moved to ground-floor premises at Rua do Sardoal, No. 177, in Guimarães.
According to the information released, the move responds to the franchise’s growth and aims to bring it closer to families in the region. The central city location is also presented as a way to improve brand visibility and provide better conditions for developing the operation.
In this case, the announcement concerns the relocation of an existing franchise rather than the addition of a new outlet. Together with the developments in Setúbal and Charneca da Caparica, it demonstrates a strategy combining geographical expansion, changes to premises and diversification of services.
Southern Portugal and Greater Porto among the priorities
Over the coming months, Interdomicilio intends to strengthen its presence in southern Portugal and the Greater Porto area. The brand cites market size, population concentration and the diversity of household needs as factors making these areas attractive for growth.
The network has more than 80 outlets across the Iberian Peninsula, a total covering its Iberian operations rather than Portugal alone. The announced plan remains focused on bringing domestic services and care to more families through new franchise development opportunities.
For anyone considering joining the network, the practical takeaway is to distinguish between each franchise’s offering: confirm the territory covered, the services actually available and the regulatory framework for home care before proceeding with an assessment of the business opportunity.
