IFBC BSD 2026 Broadens Franchise Options Beyond Food and Drink

Indonesia’s franchise and business partnership sector is offering an increasingly diverse range of opportunities beyond food and drink. This trend is evident at the Info Franchise & Business Concept Expo (IFBC) 2026, held at Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD in Tangerang on 6–8 November 2026, with more than 200 brands from various sectors taking part.

Partnership options expand at IFBC BSD

Organised by the Indonesian Franchise Association (AFI) and PT Neo Expo Promosindo, the exhibition brings together food and drink businesses and a wide range of service-based concepts. According to a Tribunnews report dated 7 November 2026, the sectors represented include health, beauty, education, automotive services, property and business support services.

The diversity of exhibitors is a key feature of this edition of IFBC in BSD. Visitors are introduced not only to products for resale, but also to service-based business opportunities. The range of categories gives prospective partners more options to compare before deciding which concepts to explore further.

The figure of more than 200 brands covers exhibitors across all sectors, not just those outside food and drink. It should also be understood as an indication of the variety on offer at the event, rather than a measure of new outlets or partnership agreements signed.

For the franchise sector, the exhibition shows that discussions about network expansion extend beyond restaurants and drinks businesses. Service-based businesses also have a place in this meeting point for brand owners, prospective partners and business operators considering expansion.

Laundry is among the options beyond food and drink

Commercial laundry is one of the prominent sectors in the exhibitor mix. Participating brands include Maytag, Speed Queen, LG Commercial Laundry, Laundry Mandiri, Maxpress Laundromat and Netto Laundromat. Their presence gives visitors more options for exploring the laundry services business.

Beyond laundry, health and beauty offerings include pharmacies, beauty clinics, cosmetics and personal care. Education and vehicle care add to the range of customer needs addressed by the business concepts on display.

Each category should be assessed separately. Prospective partners can use meetings with exhibitors to ask about the partnership arrangements on offer, the division of responsibilities and operational support. Appearing at the same exhibition should not be taken to mean that all brands use the same partnership model or requirements.

For service businesses, practical questions can focus on equipment requirements, staffing readiness, training and service quality monitoring. This helps prospective partners assess whether a concept suits their management capabilities, rather than relying solely on the appeal of a brand name or stand design.

Food and drink remains a major category

Despite the growing diversity of options beyond food and drink, the sector remains one of the largest categories at IFBC 2026. Coffee businesses, on-trend drinks brands, restaurants, fast-food outlets and traditional food businesses offer partnership models with varying investment requirements.

The main story of the exhibition is therefore not a shift away from food and drink. Rather, it is the widening range of business opportunities alongside a sector that retains a substantial presence.

This diversity gives visitors an opportunity to draw up a shortlist spanning different categories. Comparisons should not, however, stop at the initial investment. Location requirements, the owner’s involvement in day-to-day operations and support from the business offering the partnership all deserve scrutiny before a decision is made.

Prospective partners should also request detailed proposals in writing. This allows information from several exhibitors to be reviewed after the visit, without assuming that food and drink businesses operate in the same way as laundry, education or vehicle care services.

Seminars complement the business opportunities

IFBC 2026 also features seminars and discussions on developing the franchise sector. Topics include intellectual property protection, franchise business management strategies and the development of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) through franchising.

One session addresses how MSMEs can scale up through the franchise model. Discussions also cover strategies to help local businesses expand their market reach. These sessions complement the exhibition by examining business readiness, rather than simply introducing partnership opportunities.

For business owners, these topics can provide an initial checklist for assessing readiness before offering partnerships. For prospective partners, discussions of management and intellectual property protection can help shape more focused questions for brand owners.

Practical next step: select a few concepts that suit your capabilities, request written details of investment requirements and operational support, and examine the partnership arrangements before making a commitment. The breadth of choice at IFBC is most useful when followed by careful due diligence.
