FLEI 2026 to Take Place on 9–11 October at NICE PIK 2

FLEI Business Show 2026 will take place on 9–11 October 2026 at Nusantara International Convention & Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2. The 27th edition of the franchise and licensing exhibition will feature hundreds of brands, providing a venue for business meetings and networking within the franchise community. For prospective partners, it offers an opportunity to compare proposals and meet the people behind a business concept.

Business meetings take centre stage

According to ANTARA’s reporting on 16 September 2026, FLEI Business Show 2026 is being organised as a platform for business meetings and networking. Media Indonesia named Panorama Media as the organiser on the same date, while Kontan also reported the venue and dates on 17 September 2026.

The presence of hundreds of brands is an important part of the event. However, the number of exhibitors should be seen as a broad range of options to explore, rather than an indication that every offer will suit every visitor. For the franchise community, the value of a meeting lies in the fit between the business concept, the prospective partner’s capabilities and the support the brand owner can clearly explain.

A visit to FLEI can therefore be used not just to browse exhibition stands, but also to gather information for assessment. Prospective partners can prepare the same questions for several brands, making it easier to compare discussions after the event. This approach helps distinguish initial interest in a brand from an investment decision that requires further due diligence.

An event set against a franchise sector worth Rp143 trillion

FLEI comes at a time when Indonesia’s franchise sector represents substantial business value. In ANTARA’s report on 16 September 2026, Levita G. Supit, Chair of the Indonesian Franchise and Licensing Association (WALI), said the value of franchise businesses in Indonesia had exceeded Rp143 trillion, or 143 trillion Indonesian rupiah.

Levita, who also chairs the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (Kadin) Standing Committee on Franchising, Networking and E-Commerce, cited average annual growth of 10–15 per cent. Food and drink, services and retail were identified as the main drivers of that growth. The same figures appeared in Media Indonesia’s coverage of the exhibition.

These figures provide context for business events such as FLEI: partnership opportunities are being discussed within a sector where business activity continues to expand. Nevertheless, they describe the sector as a whole, rather than forecast the revenue or profit of an individual outlet. Growth in franchising does not automatically guarantee returns for every partner.

For visitors, this distinction matters when assessing brand presentations. Information about market size can be a starting point for discussion, but any assessment of an offer should still rest on business data relevant to the prospective partner’s chosen concept, location and operating plans.

Exploring food and drink, services and retail

In a separate ANTARA report on 16 September 2026, WALI forecast that food and drink, services and retail would remain the leading franchise categories in 2027. Levita said food and drink was expected to retain the top position, continuing the pattern of previous years.

This is WALI’s forecast, not an outcome that has already materialised. Prospective FLEI visitors can use it as context when drawing up a shortlist of business concepts to investigate. However, their choices need not be driven solely by the categories expected to perform most prominently.

When assessing opportunities, prospective partners should consider whether a business suits their experience, the time they can devote to managing it and their available capital. Questions about staffing needs, supplies, training and the allocation of responsibilities can help clarify how a partnership would work. Each brand’s answers should then be checked against supporting documents, rather than relying solely on recollections of a brief conversation at the exhibition.

Planning a visit that leads to meaningful follow-up

Over its three-day programme, FLEI offers opportunities for initial meetings and exploring new business contacts. Visitors should set their objectives before attending: finding a business concept, comparing several offers or holding more detailed discussions with a particular brand. Clear objectives help maintain focus when faced with many options.

If you are considering an investment, prepare a list of information to request, such as a breakdown of costs, each party’s obligations, operational support and agreement terms. Ask for written explanations of matters that will affect your decision. If information is incomplete, treat the exhibition meeting as the start of due diligence, not as a deadline for making a decision.

Practical next steps: put FLEI’s dates, 9–11 October 2026 at NICE PIK 2, in your diary, prepare a list of questions and compare offer documents after your visit. Use this franchise industry gathering to build relevant connections, then proceed only once the key information has been verified.
