Action Black announces second Medellín hotel project with 66 suites

Action Black has unveiled its second hotel project in Medellín, Colombia: Action Living Avenida Jardín, a 66-suite development in Laureles. The announcement adds accommodation and wellness to the expansion of the Antioquia-based company, which is also rolling out its franchise model, according to a report published by Portafolio on 5 November 2026.

A second project beside Segundo Parque de Laureles

Sales for Action Living Avenida Jardín launched on 22 October, after the company sold out the units in its first hotel project on Medellín’s Avenida Bolivariana. The new development is beside Segundo Parque de Laureles and will feature suites ranging from 21.7 to 28.1 square metres.

Alongside accommodation, the property will include a fitness centre, a dining area and a terrace with panoramic views. These facilities are part of a concept designed to combine stays with fitness and wellness services.

The announcement marks the commercial launch of the development, not the opening of an operational hotel. This distinction clarifies the project’s current stage: the company has presented its investment offer and the features of a property that will expand its presence in Medellín.

Investment stakes from COP 250 million

The sales offer is structured as a pooled investment arrangement in which investors share in returns generated by the property’s operations. Action Black announced stakes starting at 250 million Colombian pesos (COP) for this second development.

According to information provided by the company and reported by Portafolio, the offer includes projected capital appreciation of between 7% and 9% a year. This is a commercial projection, not an achieved result or a guaranteed return.

It is also important to distinguish between two elements of the offer: returns from hotel operations and projected appreciation in the investment’s value. The published range refers to the latter and should not automatically be interpreted as the annual return from running the hotel.

For readers in the franchise community assessing investment options, this distinction matters. The advertised investment buys participation in the arrangement described for the property; it is not presented as the purchase price of an Action Black franchise.

Wellness and franchising: distinct models

Portafolio places the launch at a time when Action Black is rolling out its franchise model and developing hotels as a new investment business line. The company’s approach seeks to connect property investment with an accommodation business supported by wellness services.

However, the fact that both initiatives belong to the same company does not make them a single contractual model. For Action Living Avenida Jardín, the announced mechanism is a pooled investment arrangement linked to the property’s performance. The 66 suites should not be described as individual franchises, nor should the investment stakes be presented as franchise agreements.

The company’s international scale provides context for this diversification. According to Portafolio, Action Black has a total of 137 locations either open or due to open across several markets. That figure combines operational sites and planned openings, so it does not mean that 137 locations are currently trading.

Its footprint spans Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Brazil, the United States, the United Kingdom and the Dominican Republic. Across these countries, the organisation supports more than 5,000 direct and indirect jobs, according to the published information.

Guatapé and Cartagena feature in expansion plans

Following its two hotel projects in Medellín, the organisation is considering taking its brand to Guatapé and Cartagena. It aims to extend a concept incorporating facilities for fitness training, nutrition and physical recovery to Colombian tourist destinations.

For now, these destinations remain part of its expansion plans. The confirmed announcement concerns Action Living Avenida Jardín, whose location, suite count and investment structure have been disclosed.

Practical takeaway: before investing, check whether the offer is a franchise or a stake in a pooled investment arrangement, and distinguish operating income from any projected capital appreciation.
