HomeWell Care Services and Coverall have announced recognition in the 2026 Franchise Times Top 400, highlighting two different stages of development within the US franchise community. HomeWell is preparing for further agency openings, while Coverall has moved up one place in the annual ranking of US-based franchise systems by global systemwide sales.
HomeWell sets out its opening pipeline
In an announcement dated 22 October, Texas-based HomeWell Franchising said it had returned to the Franchise Times Top 400 after making its debut on the list last year. The franchisor provides non-medical in-home care through HomeWell Care Services.
HomeWell said its pace of expansion during the first two quarters of 2026 had surpassed the record pace it reported for 2025. It expects to reach more than 160 locations nationwide by the end of the year, with nearly 35 agencies in the pipeline to open.
That figure remains a forecast rather than a completed opening total. In the same announcement, HomeWell described its existing network as more than 120 franchise locations representing over 210 territories across the United States. Locations and territories are therefore separate measures of its footprint and should not be treated as interchangeable.
The services delivered through the network include personal care, companionship and homemaker support for seniors and other homebound individuals. The stated aim is to help clients remain safely in the place they call home.
HomeWell also reported recognition in the 2026 Inc. 5000 list, citing 139% growth over three years, and as a Top 2026 Franchise by Franchise Business Review. Its October announcement did not specify its numerical position in the Franchise Times ranking.
Coverall moves up to No. 124
Commercial cleaning franchise Coverall announced on 22 October that it had reached No. 124 in the 2026 Franchise Times Top 400, compared with No. 125 in the previous edition.
Headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Coverall was founded in 1985 and operates as a fully franchised brand. It appears in the ranking’s Cleaning Services category.
Across its network, more than 8,000 franchised business owners use the company’s Health-Based Cleaning System to serve more than 50,000 customers in 90 markets. Those figures cover the United States and international operations, rather than the US alone.
The distinction matters when assessing the announcement: Coverall is a US-based franchisor, but both its reported operating footprint and the ranking’s sales measure extend beyond the domestic market. Its one-place improvement is a change in relative ranking, not a disclosed percentage increase in sales or franchisee earnings.
What the ranking measures
The 2026 list was released on 30 September in the October issue of Franchise Times and through its searchable database. According to Coverall’s announcement, the publication’s editorial team compiled it through a five-month reporting and research process, drawing on more than 25 years of franchise performance data.
The ranking compares the largest US-based franchise systems by global systemwide sales from the previous year. It covers ten major franchise categories.
For these two brands, the recognition provides a common reference point despite their different services and network structures. HomeWell’s announcement centres on a growing US agency network, while Coverall reports an established cleaning franchise presence across domestic and international markets.
The ranking is nevertheless a measure of system scale. It should not be read as a statement of the profitability of an individual care agency or cleaning franchise, or as confirmation that planned locations have opened.
Franchisee support alongside network scale
Coverall’s announcement also highlighted a franchisee-family initiative. In September, it awarded academic scholarships to 40 children of franchise business owners for the 2026–27 academic year.
This was the programme’s 21st year, and total giving has now exceeded $1 million. The company also reported placing No. 74 on Entrepreneur’s Top Franchises for Less Than $50,000 list.
HomeWell, meanwhile, said it was preparing for 2027 with continued franchisee support and further nationwide expansion on its agenda.
Practical takeaway: Prospective franchisees can use rankings as a starting point, but should distinguish systemwide sales from local financial performance, territories from operating locations, and opening pipelines from agencies already trading.
