PIRTEK USA awarded 12 territories and opened five locations during the third quarter of 2026, adding both new franchise owners and expanding operators to its US network. The hydraulic and industrial hose services business announced the results on 20 October, following a year in which its US network surpassed 200 locations.
New territories and five openings
The quarter’s development activity included seven new franchise owners joining PIRTEK and two existing franchisees expanding into additional territories. That mix makes the announcement more than a story about recruitment: it also records further investment by operators already working within the franchise system.
PIRTEK said new territories were awarded in markets including Ohio, New Hampshire, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, Texas and Oregon. The geographical spread places the latest development activity across several parts of the United States rather than within a single regional cluster.
The five locations that opened during the quarter were PIRTEK Fort Mill, PIRTEK Stockton, PIRTEK Las Vegas North, PIRTEK Edison and PIRTEK Columbia MO.
The distinction between awarded territories and openings is important. The 12 territory awards represent development activity, while the five openings are locations that began operating during the quarter. They should not be combined into a claim that PIRTEK opened 17 locations, nor treated as evidence that every newly awarded territory is already trading.
Growth beyond 200 US locations
PIRTEK provides mobile and retail hydraulic and industrial hose services. Its latest expansion therefore offers a view of growth within the business-service side of the US franchise community, beyond the restaurant and consumer retail brands that often attract attention.
According to the company, its US franchise network has grown by 178% over seven years under Kim Gubera’s leadership and passed 200 locations in 2026. The third-quarter announcement adds a more immediate picture of development activity to that longer-term network milestone.
Those figures describe the expansion of the network, rather than the financial performance of individual outlets. For prospective franchisees, location growth and participation by existing owners are useful indicators to investigate, but neither establishes what a particular territory will earn.
Similarly, the presence of seven incoming owners and two expanding franchisees shows two different routes into the latest development programme. New entrants are joining the system, while established operators are choosing to extend their involvement through additional territories.
Leadership changes accompany expansion
PIRTEK also announced changes to its franchise leadership during the quarter. Doug Smith was appointed Vice President of Franchise Development, while Kieran Scott was promoted to Chief Franchise Operations Officer.
These appointments sit alongside the territory awards and openings, bringing both development and operations into the company’s account of its latest growth phase. For franchise candidates, those are distinct areas to consider: securing a territory is one stage of the relationship, while operating within the network is another.
Separately, Gubera was selected to serve on the International Franchise Association’s board of directors. Her three-year term is due to begin at the association’s 2027 Annual Convention in February. PIRTEK said she brings more than 20 years of franchising experience to the role.
The board appointment is a forthcoming commitment, rather than a position whose term began during the third quarter.
Multi-unit ownership in focus
The announcement also highlighted Wes Snyder, a PIRTEK multi-unit owner with seven locations, who was named a 2026 Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association. The recognition covered his business performance, franchisee advocacy and commitment to developing future entrepreneurs.
His example adds context to the quarter’s expansion by existing owners, although the company did not identify him as one of the two franchisees awarded additional territories during that period.
PIRTEK also reported its third consecutive appearance in the Franchise Times Top 400, which ranks the largest US franchise systems by global systemwide sales. That recognition concerns system scale, not individual franchisee profitability.
Practical takeaway: Prospective owners should distinguish territory awards from operating locations and assess local demand, operational support and unit-level financial information separately from headline network growth.
