TAB Gıda announced that system-wide sales rose by a nominal 41% year on year to TRY 64 billion in the first nine months of 2026. Total transactions reached 203 million over the same period, while net profit was TRY 2.5 billion. For those considering Turkey’s franchise market, a key aspect of the results was the company’s emphasis on combining franchise-led growth with cost management, operational efficiency and digitalisation.
Understanding nominal sales growth
According to the company statement reported by Capital on 27 October 2026, TAB Gıda continued to operate in the third quarter through its multi-brand portfolio, extensive restaurant network and technology-led business model. Its nine-month results presented system-wide sales, transaction volumes and net profit together.
The fact that the reported 41% sales increase is nominal matters when interpreting the figures. It represents the change in the monetary value of sales; it should not, on its own, be read as inflation-adjusted growth or an increase in customer traffic. System-wide sales of TRY 64 billion and the total of 203 million transactions should therefore be treated as distinct indicators.
Similarly, system-wide sales and the company’s net profit do not measure the same scope of activity. The reported net profit of TRY 2.5 billion reflects the company-level financial result. It cannot be used to calculate the profit or investment payback period of an individual franchise restaurant. Distinguishing company-wide results from the economics of a specific location is therefore a fundamental step for prospective franchise investors.
Franchise growth goes hand in hand with cost management
TAB Gıda identified improving the performance of its existing restaurant network as a priority alongside expanding into new locations with franchise investors. Its statement thus described growth not only in terms of new investment, but also through more efficient operation of existing restaurants.
Özgür Çetinkaya, the company’s General Manager responsible for Finance, Financial Affairs, Franchising and Investor Relations, said sustainable growth required an accurate understanding of market dynamics, a long-term approach to investment and effective use of financial resources. He said the company considered these factors together when making decisions.
Explaining the approach, he said: “By combining the growth opportunities offered by our franchise model, our rigorous cost management and our strong operational infrastructure, we are reinforcing the resilience of our business model.” Çetinkaya added that the results achieved through these strategic priorities were reflected in the financial indicators.
These comments show that the company does not view its franchise model separately from financial resource allocation and operational management. However, the aggregate results do not reveal the performance of individual franchisees. In investment discussions, a practical way to reflect this distinction would be to examine brand-level growth and the proposed restaurant’s cost structure separately.
Digital channels and existing restaurants remain priorities
The company statement listed digital ordering channels, delivery operations and technology-enabled tools among the areas supporting operational improvements. TAB Gıda said that, alongside investing in new restaurants, it continued to improve the efficiency of existing operations and take steps to support its long-term growth targets.
These priorities suggest that the nine-month results should not be assessed solely through the headline sales figure. In the company’s account, operational infrastructure, franchising and digitalisation are closely linked. However, the information disclosed does not allow the contribution of digital channels to sales growth or net profit to be quantified separately.
For the franchise community, the practical issue is how digital ordering and delivery processes fit into restaurant management. Prospective investors may find it useful to discuss which tools are provided, how these processes are managed and which performance indicators are monitored at restaurant level. These are not promises of earnings, but questions that can help investors incorporate the company’s stated operational priorities into their assessment.
Focus on performance and guest experience for the rest of the year
TAB Gıda said it aimed to develop its restaurant network, improve efficiency and enhance the guest experience during the remainder of the year. Its message following the nine-month results therefore focused on the performance of existing operations as well as network development.
The disclosed figures provide an overview of the company’s system-wide sales, total transactions and net profit. They do not, however, directly establish the expected turnover, cost structure or payback period of an individual franchise investment. The company’s financial scale should therefore be treated as one input into an investment decision, rather than a substitute for assessing the individual business.
Practical takeaway: Prospective TAB Gıda franchisees should not treat nominal sales growth alone as an indicator of potential earnings. Discussing location-specific income and expenditure scenarios, cost management support and the operation of digital channels separately with the brand can provide a sounder basis for assessment.
