KUMON seeks franchise partners in Serendra and Uptown BGC
Serendra and Uptown Bonifacio are among the areas open to KUMON franchise applicants. Both applicants and proposed premises require approval.

Serendra and Uptown Bonifacio in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Philippines, are listed as areas open to prospective KUMON franchise operators, according to a report by The Remote Digital Hub dated 17 October 2026. For the Philippine franchise sector, this represents an opportunity in education—but it is not an announcement of two confirmed new centres.
Available areas, not confirmed openings
According to the report, both areas appeared on KUMON Philippines’ list of potential franchise locations in October 2026. This indicates a search for applicants wishing to open and manage a centre, rather than plans to open company-operated branches.
The report also notes that a KUMON centre already operates at Forbes Town Center in BGC. Serendra and Uptown Bonifacio have therefore been listed alongside an existing presence in the wider BGC area.
It is important to distinguish between an area being available and a particular franchise being approved. In addition to assessing the applicant, KUMON must approve the proposed premises. An area’s inclusion on the list does not automatically grant permission to open a centre.
For interested applicants, the first step is to confirm that their chosen area remains available and understand the approval process before committing to a lease.
A hands-on teaching and management role
Under the KUMON Philippines requirements cited in the report, applicants must be Philippine citizens, aged 25 to 45, and university graduates. They must also pass maths and English tests, complete an interview and training, and commit to running the centre full-time.
A teaching licence or previous experience in education is not required, according to the same report. KUMON provides training in its teaching method and centre management, so applicants from other professional backgrounds may also apply.
However, the prospective partner is expected to contribute more than capital. They must be personally involved as both instructor and manager. This is a key feature of the opportunity: applicants need to consider their time and willingness to teach, not just their ability to fund the opening.
Those who already have another job or business should first clarify how they would meet the full-time commitment. The applicant’s day-to-day responsibilities should form part of the decision well before choosing premises.
General investment guidance, not a BGC-specific quote
The Remote Digital Hub reported that KUMON Philippines publishes a general start-up investment range of ₱400,000 to ₱800,000 (Philippine pesos). This reportedly covers the franchise joining fee, initial learning materials, a deposit on the premises, fit-out, furniture and equipment, business permits, and initial staffing and utility costs, such as electricity and water.
According to the report, the joining fee and initial materials cost ₱28,000, which is already included in the overall investment range. It should not be treated as an additional charge on top of that amount.
However, the ₱400,000 to ₱800,000 range is general guidance, not a confirmed cost estimate for specific premises in Serendra or Uptown Bonifacio. Nor does it promise when the investment will be recovered or when the centre will begin making a monthly profit.
Before deciding, applicants should request a detailed estimate for the actual location. This should clearly distinguish one-off opening costs from the ongoing expenses of operating the centre.
What to clarify first
The BGC news concerns an opportunity for applicants, not a confirmed schedule for new centre openings. The requirements also show how investment, location approval and the prospective partner’s personal involvement are closely linked.
When contacting KUMON, applicants should prioritise three points: the current availability of their chosen area, their eligibility, and detailed costs for the proposed premises. They should also clarify the scope of training and the teaching and management responsibilities involved.
Practical reminder: Do not pay for premises solely because an area appears on the availability list. First confirm approval, the total investment required, and your ability to devote personal attention to running the centre.
