Two new brand filings have been reported in China’s franchise market. According to market news reports published on 6 November, citing the Ministry of Commerce website, Ningbo Yifulai E-commerce Co., Ltd. and Inner Mongolia Huangjia Weifeng Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. completed franchise filings for the brands Yifulai and Song Meili respectively. The filings concern companies based in different regions and established at different times, providing prospective franchisees with details they can use to check their potential contracting partners.
Yifulai: the registered company is based in Ningbo
According to the report, Ningbo Yifulai E-commerce Co., Ltd. completed its franchise filing on 29 October 2026 for the Yifulai brand. The brand name and the company’s full legal name are not identical, so prospective franchisees should retain both when conducting searches and discussing terms, rather than identifying the counterparty solely by its shortened brand name.
Citing business information platform Tianyancha, the report states that the company was established on 25 March 2015. Its legal representative is Wang Jianming, and its registered capital is RMB 1 million. It is based at Nos. 998 and 1000 Jucai Road, Jishigang Town, Haishu District, Ningbo, and is primarily engaged in retail.
Song Meili: the registered company is based in Ordos
The other filing was completed on 6 November 2026 by Inner Mongolia Huangjia Weifeng Enterprise Management Consulting Co., Ltd. for the Song Meili brand. The company named in this filing does not use Song Meili in its corporate name, making it particularly important to check the full legal name in any proposed agreement.
According to Tianyancha information cited in the report, the company was established on 20 September 2023. Its legal representative is Wang Wei, its registered capital is RMB 5 million, and its principal activity is business services. Its address is Rooms 201–202, second floor, Commercial Building 15, Yuanding North Residential Area, Qingchunshan Subdistrict, Kangbashi District, Ordos, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
Which authorities handle franchise filings?
Both reports cite Article 3 of the Measures for the Administration of Commercial Franchise Record-filing, which identifies the Ministry of Commerce and the commerce departments of provincial, autonomous regional and directly administered municipal governments as the authorities responsible for commercial franchise filings.
Franchisors operating within a single province, autonomous region or directly administered municipality must file with the provincial-level commerce department where they are based. Those operating across these boundaries must file with the Ministry of Commerce. When checking a filing, prospective franchisees should distinguish between the company’s registered location and the geographical scope of its franchise activities, rather than assuming that its address indicates the territory covered by a proposed partnership.
From checking the brand name to verifying the contracting company
These announcements establish that franchise filings have been completed for the brands and their associated companies. They should not be used to infer the size of either outlet network, the geographical scope of franchise recruitment or the earnings of individual outlets. When assessing an opportunity, compare the filing details with the company name in the contract, the brand authorisation documents and the entity receiving payments. If different entities are involved, ask for an explanation of their relationship and supporting documentation.
Practical tip: establish who you will be signing with before assessing fees, site selection and operational support. Filing information is a starting point for verification, not a substitute for reviewing the specific terms of the proposed agreement.
