Card Group seeks Head of Franchising in Gävle to support global expansion

Card Group International in Gävle, Sweden, is seeking a head of its international franchise operations. The recruitment is intended to support the company’s continued expansion by bringing in new partners and developing both new and existing markets. This is a full-time position at its Gävle headquarters, with a global remit and an application deadline of 30 November 2026.

An international remit based in Gävle

In a recruitment advert published on Platsbanken, the Swedish Public Employment Service’s jobs portal, on 4 November, Card Group describes itself as a Swedish international franchise business undergoing international growth. Founded in 1997, the company has since built a network of master franchise partners across around 40 markets.

The company is now seeking a Head of Franchising to take overall commercial responsibility for its international franchise operations. The role is based at its headquarters in Gävle, but covers the company’s international network and opportunities for further expansion abroad.

For Sweden’s franchise community, this is primarily news of recruitment to an international leadership role based in Sweden. It is not an announcement of a local store opening, but concerns the work behind finding partners, developing markets and taking new franchise partnerships through to launch.

The advert outlines the company’s expansion plans but does not identify any individual countries as its next targets. Nor does it set a target for the number of new markets or partners to be added. The concrete announcement is that Card Group is looking for someone to take overall commercial responsibility for this work.

New master franchise partners are central to the role

A key part of the role is to identify, approach and recruit new master franchise partners and other partners worldwide. According to the advert, the new head will manage the entire process, from initial contact and commercial discussions through to getting new master franchisees established.

The role is therefore not limited to developing strategies. It also involves working directly with prospective partners and handling the commercial discussions that precede a launch. In describing its ideal candidate, Card Group emphasises both commercial drive and experience in relationship-based sales.

Market analysis is also part of the job. The successful candidate will identify commercial opportunities and potential partners, as well as develop strategies for franchise development and market expansion. The remit therefore covers both assessing opportunities and pursuing them through direct contact with partners.

At the same time, the role is not solely focused on new markets. The advert explicitly mentions developing existing markets too. The position therefore involves two parallel tasks: seeking new opportunities to establish a presence and supporting development in markets where Card Group already operates.

Close collaboration with the Swedish organisation

The Head of Franchising will also be responsible for the franchise department at the Gävle headquarters. The role involves working closely with the CEO, the team in Sweden and the company’s international partners. The stated aim is to ensure shared commercial priorities.

This means the position combines responsibility for the department in Gävle with work involving partners in other markets. International expansion and the work of the Swedish organisation therefore come together in a single role. Gävle is the fixed base, although the remit is global.

In its candidate profile, Card Group highlights experience in franchising or dealer networks, international expansion and relationship-based sales as desirable qualifications. The wording leaves room for candidates from different types of partner-based business models, rather than only those who have previously held a franchise management role.

Commercial responsibility runs throughout the description: from market analysis and strategy development to partner recruitment and agreeing shared priorities with the existing organisation.

Applications open until 30 November

The application deadline is 30 November 2026. This is a full-time position at Card Group International’s headquarters in Gävle. For anyone considering applying, the combination of a fixed local base and international responsibility is a key consideration.

The recruitment highlights the expertise Card Group is seeking for its continued expansion: the ability to combine market analysis, partner relationships and commercial leadership. However, the advert is not an announcement that any new franchise agreements have already been signed.

Practical takeaway: Applicants should clearly demonstrate how their experience relates to international partner recruitment, developing existing markets and managing commercial discussions through to launch. Applications must be submitted by 30 November.
