Top Franchisee 2026: awards presented at Warsaw franchise fair

The presentation of the Top Franchisee 2026 awards was one of the highlights of the 24th Warsaw Franchise Fair. Held on 22 and 23 October at the Palace of Culture and Science, the event brought together around 100 exhibitors. Its accompanying Entrepreneurship Gala put the spotlight on the people who run franchise outlets day to day and help shape the franchise community.

Seven categories recognising different aspects of entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship Gala rounded off the first day of the fair. It was here that the Top Franchisee 2026 awards were presented. The competition covered seven categories, recognising different aspects of running a franchise business.

According to Business Centre Club (BCC), those recognised included entrepreneurs opening additional outlets, managing teams and supporting fellow franchisees. This range of awards draws attention not only to growth in outlet numbers, but also to day-to-day management and collaboration within franchise networks.

BCC supported the event as a patron. Ewelina Rozpara, BCC’s Director of Marketing and Communications, presented the Discovery of the Year award. The gala was a separate part of the programme, complementing discussions at exhibition stands and meetings about starting a business.

For the franchise community, the distinction between the areas recognised by the competition is important in itself. Opening another outlet, leading a team and helping fellow franchisees are different tasks. They should not be treated as interchangeable measures of success, nor should an entrepreneur be judged solely on the pace of expansion. A competition that considers different aspects of business provides a broader starting point for discussing the franchisee’s role.

Around 100 exhibitors and two days of meetings

The exhibition brought together around 100 exhibitors. Visitors could explore opportunities offered by franchise networks in food service, retail, finance, property, education, fitness and other services. This meant a variety of business models were presented in one place, rather than opportunities confined to a single sector.

According to BCC’s account, the two-day event was filled with meetings with entrepreneurs and discussions about developing a business. At the stands, visitors could learn about the requirements for joining a particular network and the budget needed to get started.

These two issues are worth considering separately. Information about the capital required is no substitute for an explanation of a franchisee’s responsibilities. Equally, an interest in a particular business model does not necessarily mean that a prospective franchisee can meet the conditions for joining. For anyone comparing franchise opportunities, these are separate elements of the same decision.

Having representatives from many sectors present made it possible to begin that comparison at a single event. This does not mean, however, that opportunities can be assessed simply by comparing initial investment figures. Further analysis should also consider the nature of the work, the scope of responsibilities and how well prepared the prospective franchisee is to run the chosen outlet.

Talks and consultations alongside franchise presentations

The programme went beyond meetings with exhibitors. Attendees could also join talks and seek advice in the business zone. This provided an additional space for discussions, complementing the presentations by individual networks.

The combination of exhibition stands, consultations and the gala reflected different stages of involvement in the franchise community: from exploring ways to start a business to recognising people already running their own companies. These activities did not, however, serve the same purpose in assessing a business. A franchise presentation helps prospective partners understand the terms of joining a network, while a competition award recognises particular achievements.

Prospective franchisees should therefore keep a clear distinction between interest in a brand and analysis of a specific business proposition. A network’s presence at an event, or the success of an entrepreneur operating under its brand, should not replace scrutiny of the contract and the costs of setting up their own business. This is a practical observation, not a judgement on any exhibitor or award winner.

Next edition planned for spring 2027

According to information published by BCC, the next edition of the fair is planned for spring 2027. At this stage, that timing should be treated as an announcement of the next event rather than a detailed schedule.

Following the October fair, anyone interested in joining a franchise network can organise the information they have gathered: separate financial requirements from operational ones, note unanswered questions and request the documents needed to assess an opportunity further. It is also worth establishing which statements apply to the network as a whole and which relate to a particular outlet or individually agreed terms.

Practical takeaway: awards and trade fair meetings can help you get to know the franchise community, but the decision to open your own outlet should be based on documented franchise terms and a careful assessment of costs.
