Bubbles is strengthening its presence in eastern Hungary with a new self-service launderette in Miskolc: the opening of its Avas branch has been announced for 11 am on 4 November 2026. Alongside this franchise-operated location, new outlets are planned in Tiszaújváros and Debrecen, while talks are under way in several other towns. For those following Hungary’s franchise market, the expansion offers a current example of a service network built around local entrepreneurs.
New launderette in Avas with dedicated machines
According to a report published by Északhírnök on 4 November, the new Miskolc Bubbles is located in the Avas district, at 14 Testvérvárosok útja, near the Tapolca junction. This opening therefore features in the eastern Hungary expansion programme with a confirmed address and an announced opening time, unlike locations where preparations or negotiations are still under way.
One of the branch’s highlighted features is the provision of separate machines for washing textiles covered in pet hair. The announcement thus does more than add another address to the network: it identifies a specific service feature at the Miskolc location, where these items will be washed in dedicated machines.
István Patvaros, owner of the Bubbles franchise outlets in Eger and Miskolc, cited both everyday laundry and the washing of larger household textiles as uses for the service. The launderette is therefore not aimed solely at routine clothes washing; its offering also covers household items that residents may prefer to have cleaned outside the home.
The network’s ambitions in Miskolc are not limited to a single location. Longer-term plans include further launderettes in the city alongside the newly announced branch. These remain planned expansions, however, rather than additional outlets with firm opening dates announced alongside the November launch.
Tiszaújváros and Debrecen could be next
The Miskolc location forms part of a wider expansion in eastern Hungary. According to the published timetable, Bubbles could become available in Tiszaújváros towards the end of 2026. In Debrecen, the company plans to open two new launderettes simultaneously in the near future. The three cities therefore feature in the network’s plans on different schedules.
The report also named six other towns where the company is in talks about opening new outlets: Kisvárda, Mátészalka, Sátoraljaújhely, Sárospatak, Hajdúböszörmény and Kazincbarcika. It is important to distinguish these locations from the announced Miskolc opening and the plans for Tiszaújváros and Debrecen.
Negotiations alone do not amount to a final decision to open. The towns listed therefore indicate the network’s expansion intentions, rather than representing new launderettes that are already operating or have fixed opening dates. This distinction matters to prospective local partners: a town under discussion is at a different stage from an outlet announced at a specific address.
Bubbles is also inviting applications from further franchise partners. Its recruitment efforts extend beyond the eastern Hungary programme to planned openings elsewhere in the country. The announcement therefore addresses both customers gaining access to the service and entrepreneurs interested in joining the network.
Local entrepreneurs and central support
Founded in 2013, Bubbles now has more than 75 locations in Hungary, according to the report. It also began its international expansion in 2026 with a presence in Bratislava, Slovakia. Franchising plays a key role in its domestic growth, bringing local entrepreneurs together with the network’s experience and infrastructure.
The Miskolc announcement also names the partner involved: István Patvaros is introduced as the owner of the Eger and Miskolc franchise outlets. Alongside the brand’s expansion, the report identifies the entrepreneur behind the local operation. This makes the story directly relevant to those interested in Hungary’s franchise market.
The support described by the network begins with site selection and business planning and extends to fitting out the premises. Partners also receive technical, IT and marketing support for day-to-day operations. This suggests that the relationship does not end when the launderette opens: support covers both preparation and ongoing operation.
Other features of the operating model include automation and a system that can be monitored remotely. These are operational features described by the network; on their own, they do not establish a particular location’s likely turnover or return on investment. Interested entrepreneurs should therefore assess the technical solutions and the specific commercial terms separately.
What should prospective franchise partners look out for?
The eastern Hungary announcement outlines an expansion programme progressing in stages: an announced opening in Miskolc, planned new outlets in Tiszaújváros and Debrecen, and negotiations in other towns. When considering joining the network, a useful first step is to establish exactly how far preparations have progressed in the chosen location.
Practical takeaway: prospective franchisees should request a site-specific business plan and clarify exactly what central support includes. Announced openings, planned developments and opportunities still under negotiation should not be treated as offers at the same stage of readiness.
