Fruitisimo seeks multi-unit franchise partners in two Czech regions

Fruitisimo wants to base the next stage of growth in its Czech franchise network on experienced local entrepreneurs capable of gradually taking on several outlets. In the Moravian-Silesian Region and South Bohemia, it is preparing partnerships involving the takeover of existing outlets. For prospective franchisees considering the Czech market, the key feature is the route into the business: rather than starting with a single new shop, partners would take over two established outlets, with scope for further regional expansion.

Two outlets as the foundation for a regional partnership

According to information published on Franchising.cz on 22 October 2026, Fruitisimo is currently focusing primarily on Ostrava and the surrounding area, and on České Budějovice in South Bohemia. In each region, the proposed partnership would begin with the takeover of two established outlets. Further network expansion is intended to follow.

This is therefore more than a search for someone to run a single new location. The brand wants to work with local partners who have the potential to develop their assigned region over the long term. Taking over existing outlets is the starting point, rather than the full extent of the planned business.

It is important, however, to distinguish a plan from a completed transaction. The published information describes proposed partnerships, not outlets that have already been handed over to named franchisees. Likewise, the intended network expansion should not be read as an announcement of specific opening dates.

For prospective partners in these areas, the main opportunity is therefore to discuss a broader regional business. Simply knowing of one suitable site may not be enough for this type of partnership; the key consideration is likely to be the ability to manage several outlets over time.

From a single outlet to multi-unit management

The approach Fruitisimo describes is known as multi-unit franchising. Under this model, a partner does not simply operate one outlet but gradually builds a group of outlets under the same brand within a region. The network wants to involve experienced local entrepreneurs with this potential in its next stage of growth.

For applicants, this changes the questions they should ask before joining. It is not enough to consider whether they can personally run one shop. They should also assess their ability to divide their attention between several locations, put management in place and prepare for possible further expansion. These are practical implications of the model, not a published list of Fruitisimo's contractual requirements.

The regional focus also makes the opportunity more specific. The brand is not merely expressing a general interest in new franchisees in Czechia: it is linking that interest to two areas and the takeover of an existing operating base. For local entrepreneurs, this may prompt a decision about whether to remain with a single outlet or build a larger business in their area.

The Czech network has 58 outlets

According to the published figures, Fruitisimo has 58 outlets in the Czech Republic, more than 40 of which are franchised. Franchise outlets therefore make up the majority of its Czech network. The proposed regional partnerships build on an established franchise operation, rather than introducing franchising for the first time.

However, “more than 40” is not an exact figure. It cannot, on its own, be used to calculate the precise proportion of franchised outlets or the exact number of other outlets. The main point when assessing this announcement is that the brand is basing its next phase of development on a network in which franchise partners already play a significant role.

The proposed takeover of established outlets must also be distinguished from future growth in the total number of locations. Handing an existing outlet over to a partner does not itself create a new location. Network expansion is intended to come in the subsequent phase of the partnership.

The budget for a new shop is not the takeover price

According to the published information, the investment required to open a new Fruitisimo shop ranges from approximately CZK 850,000 to CZK 1.5 million. This is a useful guide for those considering further development, but it should not automatically be applied to the proposed takeover of two established outlets.

Opening a new shop and taking over an operating outlet are different situations. The cost of the regional opportunity therefore cannot be calculated simply by doubling this range. Prospective partners should ask for separate explanations of the takeover terms, each outlet's financial performance and the funding required for any subsequent expansion.

It is equally important to clarify how the assigned region will be defined in the contract and what expectations apply to its further development. Describing the arrangement as a regional partnership is not, in itself, sufficient grounds to assume territorial exclusivity or a mandatory opening schedule.

Practical takeaway: Assess Fruitisimo's offer as an opportunity to manage and develop several outlets. Before making a decision, distinguish the cost of taking over existing outlets from the budget for opening new ones, and verify the specific terms of the regional partnership.
