Two franchise filing announcements concerning esports brands have emerged in China’s franchising sector. According to reports published by financial news outlet JRJ on 24 October, citing China’s Ministry of Commerce website, an internet access services company in Kunming and an information technology company in Qingdao completed franchise filings for the brands K.TWO Esports and Leishen Jingjie respectively.
K.TWO Esports filing made by a Kunming company
On 23 October 2026, Kunming Wuhua District Kaitu Esports Venue Internet Access Services Co., Ltd., based in Yunnan province, completed a franchise filing for K.TWO Esports. The filing establishes the link between the brand and the company named in the record.
Citing business information platform Tianyancha, the report states that the company was established on 30 November 2021. Its legal representative is Yang Feng, its registered capital is RMB 1 million, and its principal business is internet and related services. Its listed address is A1234, third floor, Building 7, Phase II, Lenovo Technology City, Kepu Road, Wuhua District, Kunming, Yunnan.
This address forms part of the company’s basic particulars. It should not automatically be treated as the address of a franchised outlet or a venue for meetings with prospective franchisees.
Leishen Jingjie filing made by a Qingdao technology company
The other filing was completed on 21 September 2026. Qingdao Pinjing Information Technology Co., Ltd. filed for the franchise brand Leishen Jingjie. Although the two announcements were published on the same day, the filing dates were approximately a month apart.
According to Tianyancha information cited in the report, Qingdao Pinjing Information Technology Co., Ltd. was established on 24 June 2019. Its legal representative is Hu Jun, its registered capital is RMB 20 million, and its principal business is software and information technology services. Its listed address is No. 52-18-10, Sichuan Road, Shinan District, Qingdao, Shandong.
The companies differ in their establishment dates, registered capital and stated principal activities. Their brand names alone are not grounds for treating them as franchise opportunities with the same operating model.
A franchise filing is not an outlet expansion announcement
The key development is that two companies have completed franchise filings, not that they have announced new openings or nationwide franchise recruitment plans. The reports disclose neither brand’s outlet numbers, franchise fees, territorial arrangements or individual outlet performance. The filings therefore provide no basis for estimating expansion rates or investment returns.
Both reports refer to Article 3 of China’s Measures for the Administration of Commercial Franchise Record Filing. Under this provision, franchisors operating within a single province, autonomous region or directly administered municipality must file with the provincial-level commerce authority where the franchisor is based. Those operating across provincial-level administrative boundaries must file with the Ministry of Commerce. The fact that the reports cite the ministry’s website does not, by itself, establish the territories in which either brand is recruiting franchisees.
Assess the specific company behind any proposed agreement
For prospective franchisees considering esports venues in China, these announcements identify the brands and the companies behind their filings. However, any comparison of the opportunities still needs to be grounded in the proposed contractual documents. Brand usage rights, equipment investment, operational support and responsibility for costs should be checked separately with each company. Registered capital should not be used as a substitute for assessing operational capability.
Practical tip: before making contact, record the full name of the company listed in the filing, then check it against the contracting party, brand and services specified in the proposed agreement. Do not treat a franchise filing announcement as a promise of returns.
