Verified Franchising Professional (VFP) qualification

The Verified Franchising Professional (VFP) is the QFA's personal accreditation for people working in franchising. It shows colleagues, franchisees and clients that your franchising experience and expertise have been independently checked. There are two ways to earn it, and whichever route you take, the result is the same.

Two pathways to VFP

Experience pathway

£250 one-off admin fee

If you already work in franchising, you may not need to take any course. Thousands of franchise professionals around the world qualify on experience alone. You apply, supply your details and references, and our team reviews your background.

You must be able to show:

At least 3 years of practical franchising experience
Any other professional qualifications relevant to your role
A summary of your career background over the last 10 years
2 references that confirm your franchising experience

Once you apply, we contact your referees and check your background. This takes some time, so please allow for it. If your application is successful, you are awarded the VFP.

Online course pathway

£500

If you don't yet have the experience required, you can take the VFP Foundation online training course. It has 4 modules covering the main aspects of franchising and tests your competence along the way, using text, diagrams and videos of real franchise meetings.

Yours for life

Once you are awarded the VFP on either pathway, it is yours for life. You keep the qualification and the right to use the VFP logo and the post-nominal letters VFP forever, whether or not you are a member of the QFA.

Open to everyone in franchising

VFP is a personal accreditation. You don't need to work for a QFA member, and if you move company your VFP moves with you. There are no events to attend and no ongoing costs — just the one-off fee for your chosen pathway.
