Belsyr signs agreement on cheese supplies for FARFOR

Belarusian joint limited liability company Belsyr and Ufa-based Farfor Franchising LLC have signed a letter of intent covering supplies of mozzarella and cream cheese worth 216 million roubles. The products are intended for FARFOR’s delivery restaurant business and its franchise partners. For Belarus’s franchising community, this is news of a manufacturer’s cooperation with an overseas network, rather than the opening of new restaurants in the country.

What is known about the agreement

News outlet Prufy reported the agreement on 3 October 2026 in an article about trade cooperation between Belarus and Bashkortostan, a republic within Russia. The report links the growth in bilateral supplies to contacts made at the INNOPROM. Belarus international industrial exhibition in Minsk and cites the government of Bashkortostan.

The section on cooperation with FARFOR identifies both parties to the agreement, two product categories, the value and the intended recipients. The Belarusian party is Belsyr, while its counterparty is Ufa-based Farfor Franchising LLC. The proposed supplies comprise mozzarella and cream cheese for FARFOR’s delivery restaurant business and its franchise partners.

The document’s precise status matters: the parties signed a letter of intent. The 216 million rouble figure should therefore be understood as the stated value of the proposed arrangement, not revenue already earned by the Belarusian company. The announcement of the signing does not, in itself, confirm that products have already reached the restaurants.

The monetary figure alone is not enough to assess the scale of the future cooperation. It cannot automatically be converted into a volume of cheese, a number of orders or a count of recipient restaurants. Such calculations would require separate information on prices, the product range and delivery schedules.

Why this matters to the franchising community

The direct link to franchising lies in the intended recipients: the cheese is destined not only for FARFOR’s delivery restaurant business, but also for its franchise partners. The Belarusian manufacturer is therefore taking part in an arrangement aimed at supplying a franchise network outside its home country.

Suppliers and franchisees nevertheless play different roles. Signing the agreement does not mean that Belsyr is buying a FARFOR franchise, becoming a restaurant operator or acquiring rights to develop the brand in Belarus. The news concerns something more specific: an intention to supply two types of dairy product to a restaurant business and its partners.

Nor should this arrangement be presented as an announcement of FARFOR’s entry into the Belarusian market. The Belarusian element is the involvement of a local company as a supplier. The locations of future openings, franchise sales in Belarus and the launch of new outlets fall outside the announced scope of the agreement.

For manufacturers considering cooperation with franchise networks, Belsyr’s story is relevant precisely in this respect. Negotiations need not be about opening an outlet under another company’s brand; they may instead concern supplying products to a restaurant business and its franchise partners. In this case, that purpose is explicitly stated.

The exhibition as a setting for trade talks

The agreement was mentioned against a backdrop of broader bilateral trade plans. Bashkortostan intends to establish supplies of alcoholic drinks produced by Bashspirt to the Belarusian market. A preliminary understanding on this was reached at a working meeting during the INNOPROM. Belarus exhibition.

Bashkortostan’s Ministry of Trade and Services and Bashspirt organised a product tasting in Minsk for representatives of major Belarusian retail chains and forum guests. Belarus, for its part, intends to increase dairy exports to Bashkortostan; the agreement between Belsyr and Farfor Franchising was reported in this context.

These initiatives should be kept separate. Plans to supply alcohol to Belarus and intentions to supply Belarusian cheese are distinct arrangements. Their inclusion in the same report on trade contacts does not justify treating them as a single deal or linking the terms of one to those of the other.

For the franchising community, the dairy element is the most relevant: it names a counterparty directly connected to a franchise network and states that the products are intended for its partners.

What prospective suppliers and partners should consider

The practical significance of agreements like this should be assessed through the subsequent formalisation and fulfilment of supplies. A manufacturer considering similar cooperation would be well advised to clarify product requirements, sample approval procedures, payment terms and responsibility for delivery in advance. These are questions for future negotiations, not announced terms of Belsyr’s deal.

Restaurant network partners should separately establish how the new arrangement will affect their purchasing: who will sell the products, how orders should be placed and which terms will apply to each outlet. The signing of an agreement between companies should not be treated as a ready-made set of instructions for every franchisee.

Practical takeaway: the arrangement between Belsyr and Farfor Franchising is worth noting as an example of planned supplies to a franchise network. Purchasing and financial decisions should, however, be based on specific contracts and confirmed terms, rather than the announced value of a letter of intent alone.
