Monaghan’s Flack Brothers has refurbished its Peugeot showroom, building on a franchise relationship dating back to 1979.

Flack Brothers has completed a refurbishment of its Peugeot showroom in Monaghan Town, updating the premises to reflect the manufacturer’s latest corporate identity. The family-run dealership, which joined the Peugeot franchise network in 1979, combines the refreshed facilities with a recent Dealer of the Year award as it approaches a century in business.
A new look for an established local franchise
Located at 68 Glaslough Street, the dealership’s modernised showroom features updated displays and exterior signage. The changes bring the premises into line with Peugeot’s contemporary brand presentation and its growing focus on electrified motoring.
The refurbishment was reported by the Anglo Celt on 6 November. It represents a physical update to an existing franchise business rather than the arrival of a new operator or the opening of an additional branch.
For Ireland’s franchise community, the distinction is useful: investment in established premises is another part of franchise development, alongside new locations and new brand launches. Here, the visible change is to the setting in which an existing local team presents the Peugeot range.
The showroom update also provides a current chapter in a much longer relationship between a family business and its manufacturer partner, with the dealership serving motorists across Monaghan, Cavan and the wider region.
A Peugeot relationship dating back to 1979
Flack Brothers Limited was established in 1929. Its entry into the Peugeot franchise network came in 1979, the same year that the company marked its 50th anniversary under the leadership of Noel Flack.
That timing places the franchise agreement halfway through the business’s first century. The dealership had already built a substantial history before joining Peugeot, and the relationship has since continued through a change in leadership and successive developments in vehicle retailing.
Noelle Flack has led the business as Dealer Principal since 2002. Today, she heads a team of 14 staff working across vehicle sales, servicing and aftersales care.
Those functions give the business a role beyond the initial vehicle purchase. Servicing and aftersales are established parts of its operation, placing ongoing customer contact alongside showroom activity. The refurbishment updates the sales environment within that broader dealership business, rather than replacing the range of services it already provides.
Recognition within the Peugeot network
The showroom investment follows Flack Brothers being named Peugeot Dealer of the Year in 2025. The award recognises customer satisfaction, sales performance, aftersales service and overall business standards.
Its scope is significant because it covers several aspects of running a dealership, not simply the appearance of its premises. The refreshed showroom and the award are separate developments: one concerns the physical presentation of the brand, while the other recognises performance across the business.
The Anglo Celt also reports that Flack Brothers holds the highest Peugeot market share of any county in Ireland. That claim relates specifically to Peugeot’s market share and should not be read as a ranking of total vehicle sales across all brands.
Together, the reported market position and the network award add context to the refurbishment. They place the update within an established franchise operation with recognised sales, service and customer-care credentials.
Local continuity alongside brand renewal
The Monaghan project illustrates how a long-standing franchise can retain its local identity while adopting a manufacturer’s updated presentation. Flack Brothers remains a family-run business, while its showroom now carries Peugeot’s latest corporate identity.
Its history also brings two different timelines into view: a company founded in 1929 and a franchise relationship established 50 years later. As the business moves towards its centenary, the refurbishment is a tangible renewal of the premises from which that relationship operates.
For other members of Ireland’s franchise community, the practical takeaway is to consider premises, people and service together. Flack Brothers’ latest update sits alongside long-term local ownership, a 14-person team and network recognition covering both sales and aftersales.
